Calzeat would like to offer you the chance to purchase this Flag style design "Throw blanket" based on the current Flag of the United States of America the "Stars and Stripes". The current 50 star design has evolved through the years from the 13 star Flag adopted in the year 1777 prior to George Washington becoming the first President of the United States in 1789. Since that time it has become a very iconic image that is an integral part of American Life and is recognised the world over.

Our interpretation is realised in a rich blend Australian "Pure New Wool" and Eastern Cape "Kid Mohair". These fine fibres are brought together in our weaving facility in Scotland so that we can offer a truly global take on this very powerful image. Mohair comes from the Angora goat and is prized as one of the world's most luxurious fibres and has been woven by craftsmen since biblical times.

Today Calzeat offer a contemporary range of design utilising these luxurious raw materials. Our inspiration for this range of designs was the famous American artist Jasper Johns 1954-55 painting entitled simply "Flag".
