Edinburgh Old Town
In the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town is The Royal Mile which dates back to medi times and is part of a larger World Heritage Site. At the top of the "mile" is Edinburgh Castle which sits proudly on an extinct volcano and at the bottom is The Palace of Holyrood house, the official Scottish residence of the British monarch. Between these 2 historic buildings, the street is filled with many notable buildings dating back to the Scottish Reformation in the 16th Century. Edinburgh Castle and The Royal Mile have in more recent years been associated with the world famous Royal Military Tattoo. The climax of each evening's performance is the massed pipes and drums marching from the castle down The Royal Mile playing Scotland the Brave.
Greyfriars Kirkyard can also be found in the Old Town where Scotland's most famous dog, Greyfriars Bobby guarded his master, John Gray's grave for 14 years until he also died and was buried inside the graveyard's gates not far from his master.
Our Scarf is a lasting momento of the historic sights of Scotland's Capital City.
